Data Recovery from Liquid and Water Damaged Phones

Data Clinic have substantial success in recovering the data from water damaged phones and also phones that have been submerged in other types of liquid including wine, beer, soft drinks, fruit juices, toilet water, pond and river water, sea water, mud, swamps etc. You’ll need to send us the phone (use our free collection service) so we can work on it in our lab. The whole process takes between 5-15 working days and we’ll recover your phone’s data to a memory stick that is divided into specific folders such as ‘Images’, ‘Videos’, ‘Contacts’ etc.

Once the process has completed we’ll send your phone back along with the data recovered. Even though significant work will be involved to repair your phone, it will not be in a working condition when you receive it back. As we have to disassemble phones to recover the data, all warranties etc will be voided too.

We can recover data from any type of liquid / water damaged phone, including Apple iOS, Huawei, Samsung, HTC, Google, Sony, Nokia and other Android models.

Our data recovery process to retrieve the data from water & liquid damaged phones is in two parts:

• Part One – Clean Up & Diagnose: This involves taking the phone apart, stripping it down and ultrasonically cleaning the phone. We take a close look at the parts using a stereo microscope, conduct a low level fault find and test to assess the damage and figure out if it is possible to retrieve the data and what needs to be done in order to achieve it
• Part Two – Recovery: Work is completed to repair or work around the damage so that we can access and recover the data. This may include advanced JTAG and chip off procedures if necessary.

The photo to the right was taken in the Data Clinic lab and shows one of the iPhone main boards. The phone had been accidentally dropped into water a week or so previously. As you can see the board is already heavily damaged resulting in hundreds of short circuits and a phone that will no longer power on. The data from this phone was fully recovered.
